Range over the ocean

Our very first recommendation for a kid-friendly activity in Tenerife is whale & dolphin watching excursions in Freebird Catamarans. Enjoy the serenity of the sea, let your little ones splash in shallows and craft empire out of the sand. You soak up the sun with your one eye open.

Here are a few ocean activities on Tenerife suitable even for kids:-

Whale & Dolphin Watching Excursions:

Everything About Tenerife Whale & Dolphin Watching Trips

A variety of whale & dolphin excursions is one of the best tourist activities in Tenerife, as well as a good choice provided your kids don’t get seasick.

Family Kayaking:

It’s as easy as seating your kids between two adults in a double kayak. And, genuinely, what other is a better way to experience Los Gigantes than from the sea?

Visit The Best Zoos:

Little kids – even motor-crazed tots – will be enthralled by the live versions of animals they usually experience on-screen or in pictures.

Jungle Park:

With white tigers in many of its attractions, Las Aguilas Jungle Park is in the south, in Los Cristianos. The park has incredibly lush grounds that house a variety of primates, exotic birds, and wild cats as well as sea lions.

Highlights of Jungle Park:

  • Exotic bird shows (talking parrots, dancing macaws)
  • Birds of prey shows
  • Sea lions show
  • Feeding time for penguins
  • Kids can feed and pet wild birds and meet lemurs face-to-face.
  • 800m bob track ride- a perfect option for kids who can sit on an adult’s lap.

Monkey Park:

Monkey park is another incredible tourist attraction place situated in Los Cristianos. A zoo that is famous for different monkey activities and offers visitors a unique experience of entering cages and feeding animals. The collection also includes crocodiles, turtles, guinea pigs, macaws, and iguanas. Being a smaller park than Jungle park, it’s a low-key alternative for a perfect half-day excursion when looking for a few hours of fun away from tourist crowds.

  • Feeding and petting animals
  • A viewing bridge that stretches over the pond with crocodiles and turtles.

La Granja Verde- The Green Farm

If you begin your day in Puerto de la Cruz, after about ten minutes to the southeast, you’ll reach La Granja Verde- The Green Farm.

Though it’s not a zoo in its strictest sense, the Green farm is home to 16 indigenous animal breeds and gives a glimpse of a rural living in Tenerife. Visits are limited to 1 hour, making the excursion a good pre or post-lunch activity.

  • Pet and feed animals
  • Camel and pony rides
  • Farm and foods available on site

Turn a 15-minute walk into a 5-minute bike ride to explore Tenerife in a unique style. Even if you are not an avid biker, taking a cycle-ride with your kid in the backseat can provide you with a nice change of pace. And, in case you are worried that Tenerife is only famous for its mountain bike trails, ‘the island of eternal spring’ also has beautiful coastal routes that are next to leisurely.
